Some of the buttons are tactile, because you can’t get everything you want in life, but at least there are still physical buttons to change basic things like cabin temperature. Porsche believes it’s “the perfect balance between digital and analog elements.”
Like the outgoing range, lower-order models come with steel springs and PASM, but now have two-valve dampers that control compression and rebound separately. Cars with air suspension have two-valve damping as well as two-chamber air springs. Either way, we’re told ride and handling are improved with less pitch and roll. In addition, there is further differentiation between the cars in the Normal, Sport and Sport Plus driving modes.
There are three engines available in the UK and all are higher performance than before. The entry level 3.0 V6 now has 353 hp and 369 lb ft, that’s a modest increase of 13 hp and 37 lb ft. More interestingly, and unusually for this era, the Cayenne S now has a V8 instead of a V6, with 474 hp and 443 lb.-ft. That’s an increase of 34bhp and 37lb ft and cuts the 0-62mph time to 4.7 seconds (previously 5.2 seconds).
