Bmw 7 Series – The exterior of the 2023 BMW 7 Series uses the German automaker’s “less is more” design theory to exude class
Some versions of the 2023 BMW 7 Series are all about the driver — others, like this 760i, are all about the backseat

Rear seat options in the new 7 Series range from the elegant and exceptionally comfortable, like this 2023 BMW 760i, to the more mundane “normal” bench found elsewhere.

A Brief History Of The Bmw 7 Series
If your view of transportation only swings to work and back, vehicles like the BMW 7 Series aren’t really going to be your bag. The seventh generation of the 7 was launched in 2023 and continues the luxury sedan motif of its predecessors.
For people considering monthly payments equivalent to most people’s mortgages, there are vehicles like the new BMW 7 Series. It’s a big, well-designed and well-heeled sedan. Accessories and features will appeal to both those who prefer to drive themselves and those who prefer to be driven. The vehicle is available in two variants: 740i and 760i.
The 740i has a 3.0-liter turbocharged inline-six producing 375 horsepower (280 kW) mated to an eight-speed automatic transmission in rear-wheel drive. This “base-level” (if you can apply that term to something that high while keeping a straight face) 7 has adaptive LED headlights, adaptive air suspension and adaptive ambient lighting. It also has soft-close doors that close themselves to prevent it from closing again, along with four-zone climate control and heated leather upholstery.
The Bowers & Wilkins sound system with 18 speakers with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto (wireless of course) is controlled via a 14.9-inch touchscreen. A wireless charging pad, head-up display and fully digital instrument cluster are also standard. Likewise, a wide range of advanced safety systems and driver aids, such as semi-automatic parking.
Bmw 7 Series Review 2024
If that sounds like a lot for a base model car… well, we agree. It’s pretty fancy. Just know that the price only starts at $100,000.
This one replaces the six with a 4.4-liter turbocharged V8 with 536 hp (400 kW) and all-wheel drive. The heated seat in this one also gets ventilation. From there, a host of add-ons are available via package or à la carte. The two-tone paint on our test drive, for example, was a generous touch – as was the luxury rear seat package with its rear seat heating, ventilation and massage options.
The Executive package strangely adds more things. Plus, for those who aren’t used to doing strenuous things like opening their own car door, it adds automatic opening doors. Push a button and the BMW does the work for you. Close them too. Because only the plebs should do that to themselves.
It’s easy to mock a high-end car like this for the kind of pampering and uber-lux it provides, but that’s mainly because most of us can’t afford this kind of luxury in our daily lives. If we could, we definitely would.
The 2023 Bmw 7 Series Introduces Next Level Luxury That’s Fit For A Flagship
The 2023 BMW 760i is a dream to drive and even dreamier to drive in. The muscular engine is discreet and doesn’t get in your face until the rightmost pedal is pressed down hard. Then it makes itself felt, growling and pushing the car forward as you push back into the seat to go along. Most of the time, the big V8 can barely be heard under the hood, bringing that confident predictability back to everyday driving.
A clever design feature of the new BMW 7 is the AWD system. It works in the BMW 760i with the adaptive suspension to smooth the ride when accelerating, cornering or parking. It’s an intelligent system aimed at the ultimate goal of the 7 Series: comfort. Most of the driver assists are the same.
In 2023, the BMW 7 could include the German manufacturer’s latest Highway Assistant function. This allows the vehicle’s advanced systems to drive the car hands-free in highway and freeway situations. It works with lane keeping and adaptive cruise systems along with the driver alert monitoring system to drive the car automatically. It is relatively limited for safety reasons, but comparable to systems from Cadillac, Lincoln and Mercedes-Benz.
And yes, before readers start commenting on how “wasteful” and “polluting” this car is, know that both a plug-in hybrid and an all-electric model are on the way. The upcoming PHEV model will, it seems, replace the outgoing V12 model of the last generation as the M-series option for this new version of the 7.
Bmw 7 Series Trim Comparison
Compared to the previous generation 7 Series, the 2023 BMW 7 Series is a much more advanced executive-style sedan. The 7 is now clearly separated from the cheaper 5 Series and has gone where it should have been all along. That’s the pinnacle of BMW offerings and that’s certainly true with this new design. As much as a car can mollycoddle, this one will…provided the right accessories are added, of course.

And is it the best car interior in the world?”
This is the i7, BMW’s sixth pure electric car, albeit wrapped in the guise of the all-new 7 Series. That’s right: rather than debuting its electric luxury sedan in the same fashion as the Mercedes EQS or Porsche Taycan, the i7 arrived at the same time as the rest of the regular new 7 Series. In fact, it actually arrived in the UK before the petrols, diesels and hybrids, and at the time of writing in 2023, the i7 remains the only current gen 7 Series we’ve tested on our shores.
It’s actually the seventh generation of the company’s range-topper, a model that debuted in 1977 and offers more poise and greater dynamism than Mercedes’ rather patriarchal and austere S-Class, and more modernism than Jaguar’s gin and cigars XJ. Around two million have been sold since then, and the innovations have been coming thick and fast.
Bmw 7 Series Review: Stunning In Every Way But One
Remember, it was the 2001 generation four car that ushered in the Bangle design and premiered the overworked iDrive. Still, the received wisdom is that the Mercedes S-Class has always had the edge as the supposed “best car in the world,” which is probably pretty annoying. You get the feeling that BMW has thrown everything it knows into the new car in an attempt to finally, definitively get the upper hand on the old enemy.
However, the rules have changed and the electric i7 is taking center stage as BMW reshapes the luxury car experience around on-board well-being, a leading digital experience via its new OS8 software and standard-setting durability. Oh, and a whopping 31.3-inch panoramic TV (‘theatre’) screen that folds out of the roof for rear seat passengers. Everyone got really juicy from it. Who knows, it might be good to drive too.
There is no doubt that BMW has committed itself to a challenging new design philosophy. Some critics – that is, pretty much the entire internet – seem to think the new 7 Series is further proof that BMW has said goodbye to its senses (or less nice words for that matter). On the move it works pretty well. No, really. In white, with all the shiny bits in gloss black, or completely, erm, ‘killed’ in matte colour, it’s modern and defiantly, unapologetically different. The M Sport Package Pro helps, adding 21-inch alloy wheels and larger brakes (19-inch wheels are standard but underpowered). Do you think all new cars look the same? Not here, they don’t.
The large grille lights up at night and the ceiling lighting is the focus, with the optional Swarovski ‘iconic glow’ crystal glass. This face is probably in your face. The dipped and main beam headlights are built into the apron; adaptive LEDs are standard. The new 7 Series can light up a Coldplay concert.
The Bmw 7 Series
Curiously, it’s not the split-level lights and brick exterior that bother us, it’s the rear where the new 7 Series loses its conviction and becomes strangely generic. Which is ironic given the ruckus the 2001 E65 iteration caused back in the day.
Although larger in all dimensions and blocky in appearance, the new wheelbase-only 7 Series is also very aerodynamically efficient. That’s key in the world of electric cars, where smoothness equals efficiency, and the i7’s drag coefficient is just 0.24. Back
